Donald "Dopey" Anthony, 79, DuBois, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Christ the King Manor. He had lived with his daughter Vicki Ellis and her boyfriend John Mahlon, jr. In Grampian for the last 4yrs.
Donald was born May 21, 1936 in DuBois. He was the son of the late Harry W. & Anna (Pukzio) Anthony. He was married to Joann Emily "Hermit" (Wrighter) Anthony, she preceded Him in death.
Donald is survived by his daughter Vicki Ellis and her boyfriend John Mahlon, jr., and a son Steven "Tate" (Whitney) Anthony of DuBois, Two sisters: Dorothy Smith Of Reynoldsville and Jack (Joann) Manners of DuBois, one brother: Robert "Mugsy" (Nancy) Anthony of DuBois, four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren .
Donald was also preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Shedlock, Gladys Colffin, Anna “Babs” Cutlip and Margaret “Ninnie” Manners and five brothers: Harry, Richard “Tody”, Raymond, John “Jack” and Terry “Beek”.
Donald was retired from the City of DuBois where he worked for the water, sewage and street departments. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his great grandchildren. He was a member of the IP&S, Swedish, Pulaski, VFW, Sandy and Big O clubs.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 4pm until 7pm and Saturday from 9am until 10am at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. Services will follow at 10am at the funeral home with Rev. David Nagele officiating. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
