James P. “Jim” Milbert, 91, DuBois, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born March 14, 1926, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Clarence M. & Mary V. (Rihn) Milbert. In 1971 James married Kathleen A. (Zacharias) Milbert. She survives in DuBois.
James was a carpenter & owner of Milbert’s Tavern in Etna. He was a maintenance worker & supervisor of Fox Chapel Golf Club for many years. He enjoyed building and driving race cars for 26yrs, working on Golf Carts, and loved music, playing the accordion and singing.
James served in the US Army as a Mess SGT during WWII.
James is also survived by four children: Darlene (Clifford) Haggerty, NC, Teresa (Larry) Bishop, NC, Bill (Beth) Milbert, Butler, and Tannie (Joe) Ungor, Cranberry Twp; one sister, Thelma Thomas of Pittsburgh, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois and on Friday, July 28, from 10-11 at Narrows Creek Church. Services will follow at 11am at the church with Pastor Bill Edwards officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
