Joan E. (LaBorde) Withey

            Joan E. (LaBorde) Withey, 67, Luthersburg-Rockton Road, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness. She was born March 29, 1949 in Clearfield, daughter of the late Charles & Sarah (Leonard) LaBorde.

            Joan was a graduate of DuBois Area High School. She worked as a printer at Lead World Inc. in New Kensington. She was Methodist by faith. She loved spending time with her family, her dog Boo & her birds. She enjoyed gardening & cooking. She was full of laughter and shared that with family & friends. She will be sadly missed and always loved to the moon & back.

            Joan is survived by her three children John Withey, jr and wife Michele of Reynoldsville, Mrs. Daniel (Valaria) Henry of Luthersburg, and Stacy Withey and friend Jeff Stiver of Stump Creek, a sister Mrs. Chester (Nancy) Smohek, and a twin brother John LaBorde and wife Brenda of Stump Creek, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

            Friends will be received on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 6pm until 7pm at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. A memorial service will follow on Thursday at 7pm at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Sherwood officiating. Burial will take place in Sykesville Memorial Cemetery.
