Joseph Kematick, 92, Brookville, formerly of Troutville, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his residence. He was born March 12, 1929 in DuBois, PA. He is the son of the late John and Mary (Kemetic) Kematick. He married Helen (Rinehuls) on July 10, 1954; she preceded him in death in 2020.
Joseph was a graduate of DuBois High School. He served in the US Army from 1948 - 1953 during the Korean Conflict; then from 1953 – 1969 he was in the reserves with the Transportation Core of DuBois. He had worked for Erickson in DuBois as a machinist until retirement.
He was a member of Nativity Church in DuBois and he loved gardening.
Joseph is survived by three children, Robert (Meena) Kematick of Endicott, NY, Alice (Charles) Hough of Telford, TN, and Ruth (Bret) Swab of Brookville, PA, six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Joseph was also preceded in death by a son Daniel Kematick, a grandson, and four sisters, Amelia Guthridge, Ann Roush, Mary Bowser and Catherine Ford.
