Rev. Leo C. Cramer, 94, Sykesville, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at his residence. He was born June 15, 1929, in Soldier, PA. The son of the late Dorsey E. & Bertha M. (Christian) Cramer. He married Mona L. (Buhite) on August 15, 1953, she survives in Sykesville.
Leo is a “1947” graduate of Sykesville High School. He had served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After seven years of college, Leo graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree; which led him to serve churches in places like: Newton Hamilton, Sandy Lake, Saegertown, Blooming Valley, and Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania as well as Chugiak and Anchorage in Alaska to name a few. He had served as a Pastor, a teacher and sang in the choir. He was a member of the American Legion and for over 50 years, a member of the Lakeview Masonic Lodge in Sandy Lake, PA.
Leo was a loving husband and father, and enjoyed spending time with family. Leo will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a genuine love for other people. He was active in all the communities in which he lived, including service with the ambulance and fire companies.
In addition to his wife, Leo also leaves behind two daughters, Jamie Lackey of Sykesville, and Cathy (Bob)Petty of Greenville, four sons, Stephen (Christine) Cramer of Meadville, Craig (Angeline) Cramer of Reynoldsville, Daniel Cramer of Reynoldsville, and Benjamin (Faith) Cramer of DuBois, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Neva Mowrey and five brothers, Dorsey Jr, Marlin, Max, Roger, and Dean Cramer.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00am with a luncheon and fellowship to follow at the First Methodist Church, 504 Jackson St., Reynoldsville, PA. Friends will be received from 10:30 until 11:00am at the church.
In lieu of flowers family suggest memorials to either: Sykesville Ambulance or Fire Company, Helping Hands of Reynoldsville, donor’s choice, or the U.M.
