Albert F. Eckman

Albert F. Eckman, 85, Sykesville, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Christ the King Manor. He was born August 22, 1939 in Desire, the son of the late Albert E. & Alda S. (Torretti) Eckman. He married Barbara (Schriver) Eckman in 1965, she survives in Sykesville.

In addition to his wife, Albert also leaves behind three daughters, Deborah (John) Glasl, Reynoldsville, Deneise (Rick) Strouse-Canton, Sykesville and Kathleen (Steve Wilson) Eckman, Sykesville, two sisters, Lisa (Vern) Lindemuth, Pittsburgh, Pamela (Ron) Reiter, Sykesville, three grandchildren, Samantha (Zach) Bussard, Plum, Derek Strouse, Sykesville, Aiden Good, DuBois and his cat “Bubba”.

Albert was a graduate of Sykesville-Henderson HS class of 1957 and DuBois Business College with a Degree in Business Administration. He had previously worked for Stockdale Mine Supply of Frostburg, PA and was a delivery person for Sunrise Drilling for 8 years. He was a member of ABVM Church in Sykesville where he served as an usher for many years.

Albert enjoyed truck pulls, his Trumpet which he played with numerous bands and sitting on his front porch watching traffic go by.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 11am until 1pm at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. Services will follow on Monday at 1pm at the funeral home with Fr. Matt officiating. Burial will take place in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations to either the Sykesville Firemen or Sykesville Ambulance.
