Althea E. (Fish) Gilbert

Althea E. Gilbert, 93, DuBois, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born November 26, 1922 in Franklinville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Willis G. & Hazel (Chase) Fish. Her husband Thomas J. Gilbert preceded her in death in 1988.

Althea is survived by her four sons: Theodore (Linda) of Reynoldsville & Edward (Phyllis), Danny (Carol) & Thomas (Diane) of DuBois; Sister: Shirley Fish of Williamsport; one brother: Donald Fish of Georgia; fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren & three great-great-grandchildren. 

Althea worked for Rollo Jensen Corp. of DuBois in Maintenance dept., DuBois Child Care Day Care Center and was a head cook for DuBois Outreach Center. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Covenant Church in DuBois. She loved walking and growing flowers

Althea was also preceded in death by a son Stephen, daughter Susan, seven brothers Robert, Rollin, James, Harold, Eugene, Arthur & Willis,jr. 

Friends will be received on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 3pm-6pm and Friday from 10am-11am at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of DuBois. Services will follow on Friday at the funeral home at 11am with Rev. Barry Anthony officiating. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
