Betty Dixon, 88, formerly of Hormtown and Beechwoods area, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Hillview Healthcare in Altoona. She was born February 9, 1930, to the late Harold & Genevieve (Naugle) Davie in Fair Oaks, PA. Betty is married to Floyd N. Dixon, who survives in Altoona.
She had worked in the maternity ward at Maple Ave. Hospital for many years. She was a member of Emerickville Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, reading, and baking.
In addition to her husband, Betty is also survived by three sons, James N. (Deborah A.) Dixon of DuBois, Melvin W. (Cynthia J.) Dixon of Altoona, and Wesley J. Dixon of Pittsburgh, a sister Margaret Ann Ostrander of Pittsburgh, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Betty lived most of her life in the Hormtown & Beechwoods area.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Peg Young, Priscilla Huffman, and Lillian Kalgren & three brothers, Robert, William, and James.
Friends will be received on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 10am until 12-noon at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at Noon with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
