Brandi "Brand" (Walburn) Bastian

Brandi “Brand” (Walburn) Bastian, age 35, of Darien Center, NY and formerly of Sykesville, PA, died October 10, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic, after a lengthy illness.  A son of Randall and Diana (Tabone) Walburn of Sykesville, he was born on May 17, 1988 in Sykesville, PA.  On December 2, 2017 he married Mary Ellen Bastian, who survives at home in New York.

Along with his parents and his wife, Brand is survived by: two sisters, Tawnya (Dave) Cordwell of Reynoldsville and Vivian (Vaughn Kougher) Selvage of DuBois.

Brand graduated from DuBois Area Schools and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology.  He worked as a Forensic Anthropologist for many Law Enforcement Agencies.  He was born and raised in Sykesville, lived the past seventeen years in New York and enjoyed hunting and family gatherings.

Public visitation will be held, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2023 at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville.

Funeral Services will be held, 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2023 at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville.
