Catherine Cecil (Scarantine) Solada

Catherine Cecil Solada, 87, DuBois, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Penn Highlands Healthcare in DuBois. She was born January 10, 1938, in Anita, PA, daughter of the late Cataldo & Theresa (Garvey) Scarantine. She was married to James H. Solada who survives in DuBois.

In addition to her husband Catherine also leaves behind two daughters, Patricia Craig of Falls Creek and Theresa Costa of Brookville, a step-daughter, Tammy (Nick) Capra of Missouri and two step-sons, James R. Solada of Sabula and William (Deeanna) Solada of Rockton, a sister Marge Lorelli of Reynoldsville, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Catherine graduated from SSCD Catholic School in Punxsutawney. She had worked many of years as an inspector for Owens Corning in Brookville before working an additional 17yrs in Home Care with Christ the King Manor. She enjoyed playing bingo and trips to Atlantic City or Salamanca.

Catherine was a member of Holy Spirit Parish at St Catherine of Siena Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Mary Simpson and Phyllis Himes and three brothers James, William, and Francis Scarantine.

There will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hickory Grange at the convenience of the family.
