Dora Strasavich Obituary

Dora A. Strasavich, 96, Sykesville, passed away January 07, 2021 at Penn Highlands in DuBois. She was born May 28, 1924 in Sykesville, the daughter of the late Martin & Ollie (Frantz) LaBorde. She was married to Anthony Strasavich on September 29, 1945. He preceded her in death.

She attended Sykesville School. She had previously worked at Sylvania in Emporium, Jeffers Electronics and then retired from the egg processing plant in DuBois. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sykesville. She enjoyed Bingo, Knitting, crocheting, playing cards, country music and most of all spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dora was also preceded in death by two sons, Fred and Anthony Strasavich, a sister Bernice Zelinski, a brother Junior LaBorde and a daughter-in-law, Donna Strasavich.

Dora is survived by six grandchildren, Brian (Anneka) Strasavich of NY, Todd Strasavich of MD, Rebecca (Troy) Pennington of DuBois, Heidi (John) Sawtelle of DuBois, Holli (Brad) Lashinsky of Reynoldsville and Amanda Walters of DuBois, eight great-grandchildren, Cameron & Brandon Pennington, Noah & Madelyn Sawtelle, Laken & Kendall Lashinsky and Sophia & Roman Walters, numerous nieces & nephews and a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Strasavich.

Due to COVID-19, all services will be private. Burial will take place in LakeLawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville beside her husband.
