Dorothy L. Korney, 97, DuBois, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at her residence. She was born June 16, 1924 in Glen Campbell, the daughter of the late Samuel & Olive (Brady) Brickle. She was married to Thomas Korney; he preceded her in death in 1949.
Dorothy was the eldest of five generations and was a widow of 72 years. She worked at a factory in Erie PA where she would ride the train to work everyday with her friend Florence and also they enjoyed going roller skating together.
She leaves behind a son Randy Korney of DuBois, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by a daughter Diana and three sons Tommy and twins Gary & Terry, a sister Martha Stauffer, two brothers Ralph & Howard Brickle.
Dorothy looked forward to her trips to Ohio to visit family and attend family reunions. She will be remembered for her love of sweets and shopping as well as her ability to always remember everything.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 11am until 1pm at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. Services will follow at the funeral home at 1pm. Burial will take place in Burnside Cemetery.
