Edith E. (Woods) Kilmer

           Edith E. Kilmer passed away January 26, 2023 at Christ the King Manor. She was born in Brady Twp., February 1, 1929, the youngest daughter of the late Chester & Ethel (Kiehl) Woods. Edith graduated with the class of 1947. She married her husband of 67 years Ivan H. Kilmer on February 11, 1950 at the Boone Mountain Church in Sabula. He preceded her in death April 2, 2017.

            Edith is survived by four sons Dale I. (Kathy) of Sabula, David I. (Yvonne) of Biglerville, PA, Bradley E. Kilmer and Scott D. Kilmer both of Sabula, four grandchildren Steven (Vickie) Kilmer of Dover, PA, Amy (Mark Sprague) Kilmer of Clear Run, Betsy Crawford and Katie Kilmer both of Sabula, step-grandson Chad (Kim) Smith of Biglerville, PA, nine great-grandchildren, Damon Heuser, Rowan Brynn Gavin Sprague, Mason and Daisy Crawford, Michaela and Colton Kilmer and Kloey Murray, five step-great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

            In addition to her parents and husband, Edith was also preceded in death by one grandson Robert Kilmer, one great-granddaughter Adison Sprague and two step-grandchildren Amy Angel and Jason Smith, five sisters Elaine Spicher, Dorthy Lines, Ann Morgan, Grace Opperman and Doris Swanson, three brothers Clyde, Max and Arthur Woods. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

            Edith enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, cooking and traveling. She was a member of the Tops Club in DuBois for many years. She was Protestant by Faith. She and Ivan attended the Church of the Nazarene for many years and later attended the Penfield Presbyterian Church.

            Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, from 4 – 7 p.m. and Monday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. Services will follow at 11a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Butch Brunner officiating. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery in DuBois.
