Evelyn C. Witherite

            Evelyn C. Witherite, 78, Luthersburg, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 after a lengthy illness.  She was born June 23, 1937, in Hazen, PA; daughter of the late Merle and Ruth (Smith) Aljoe. She married Robert E. Witherite, he survives in Luthersburg.

            Evelyn is also survived by two sons: Michael Witherite of Centre Hall and Martin “Marty” Witherite and wife Pam of DuBois; one brother: Ronald Aljoe; three sisters: Mary Ellen Beckman of Punxsutawney, Mrs. Luther (Ann) Weber of Paradise and Mrs. Donald (Erma "Lovey") Lingenfelter of Penfield.

            Evelyn was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

            Evelyn was a graduate of Brookville High School Class of 1955. She was a member of United Church of Christ in Luthersburg. She enjoyed making and teaching ceramics for many years. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and Brady Twp. Community Center.

            Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home.
