Floyd N. Dixon, 98, formerly of DuBois, passed away, Friday, May 05, 2023, in Altoona. He was born March 20, 1925, in DuBois the son of the late Amos & Laura (Duttry) Dixon. He was married to Betty (Davie) Dixon for 70yrs, before her passing in 2018.
He leaves behind two sons, Melvin (Cindy) Dixon of Altoona, and Wesley Dixon and partner Allen McClain of Pittsburgh, a daughter in-law Debbie Dixon of Treasure Lake, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
After returning from the Army during WWII as an infantry truck driver, Floyd worked as a machinist. He loved bowling and was active with the Grange.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a son James Dixon, six sisters and two brothers.
Friends will be received on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11am until 12-noon at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. A Memorial Service will follow at Noon with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by DuBois VFW Honor Guard. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery beside his wife.
