George M. Gula, 81, Sykesville, passed away, Monday, August 5, 2024 at Penn Highlands in DuBois. He was born July 15, 1943 in Sykesville; A son of the late George & Rose (Petty) Gula.
George is a graduate of Reynoldsville – Sykesville High School and a Veteran of the US Airforce where he served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville, Sykesville Firemen and American Legion, NRA, a Pittsburgh Pirates & Steeler fan, and enjoyed the Outdoors.
He leaves behind a brother Stephen Gula of Erie and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by his step-father Peter Gula and two brothers James and Paul Gula.
Devine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10:00am with Rev. Nathaniel Tapsak as celebrant at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville. Military Honors will follow at the church with the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will take place in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church cemetery in Sykesville
Family suggests donations to Sykesville Firemen, American Legion or Buck Tail Council or Holy Byzantine Catholic Church.
