Hazel (Nolen) Hollopeter

Hazel Hollopeter, 100, formerly of Rockton, returned to her heavenly home March 17, 2017 at Cross Keys Village the Brethren Home, a loving and caring community in New Oxford, PA. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to family and friends, as well as her firm belief in God. She had a beautiful smile, a lively spirit, and kind way about her that touched the heart of all who had the pleasure to know her.

She was born January 2, 1917 in DuBois, PA; daughter of the late John & Solmie Nolen. She was married to Lambert Hollopeter, he preceded her in death. Hazel is also preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Zuchowski and two sisters Bertha Hetrick and Luella Dambaugh. 

Hazel is a Graduate of DuBois High School. She had previously worked for the DuBois Credit Bureau. Formally a member of the Church of Brethren in Rockton where she was an organist and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed painting & crafting.

Hazel is survived by two children Dale Hollopeter of Castle Rock, CO and Donna Arthur of Mechanicsburg, PA. Four Grandchildren Karen Hall of Yuma, AZ and Steven Zuchowski of Fredericksburg, Va, Amy (Eric) Action, and Philip (Laura) Stearns. Eight great-grandchildren Zoey and Ayden Zuchowski, Jacob, Samuel & Madison Beech, Alex, Kyle & Eric Stearns and three step great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made in Hazel’s name to the Good Samaritan Fund at Cross Keys Village.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 10am until 11am at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. Services will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Rockton Cemetery.
