Iva Louella Stockdale, 79, Sykesville, passed away Wednesday morning March 19, 2025 following a fire at her home along Paradise Road. She was born September 19, 1945 in Anita, a daughter of the late Thomas & Edith Lingenfelter. She married Joseph Stockdale; he survives in Sykesville.
Iva attended Reynoldsville Schools. She had previously worked for H. Shakespear Company in DuBois and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting quilts.
In addition to her husband, Iva also leaves behind a daughter Debora (Glen) Johnston of DuBois, three brothers Melvin “Butch” Lingenfelter of DuBois, Albert Lingenfelter of PA and Edward (Cindy) Lingenfelter of Pittsburgh, two sisters Helen Lingenfelter of DuBois and Addie Heberly of DuBois, and one grandson, Gary (Elizabeth) Johnston of NY.
Iva was preceded in death by her parents, a son Joseph Stockdale, jr and two brothers, Thomas and William Lingenfelter.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 2 until 4pm at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. Services will follow at 4pm at the funeral home with Rev. David Nagele officiating. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville.
