Jean (Cowan) DeJohn

            Jean DeJohn, 97, of Sykesville, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Nelsons Golden Years. She was born June 18, 1918 in Erriton, PA. She was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Merry) Cowan, Sr. She was married to Larry DeJohn, Sr. he preceded her in death in 2006. 

            Jean was survived by three children: Larry (Rosemary) DeJohn of Reynoldsville, Gary DeJohn of DuBois and Robert (Violet) DeJohn of Sykesville, nine grandchildren and eleven great and three great-great grandchildren.

            Jean was also preceded in death by a daughter: Nancy Sheesley, infant son, four sisters: Elizabeth “Lizzy” Platter, Jesse Hafner, Margaret Kelly and Mary DeJohn, three brothers: John, James and Robert Cowan. 

            Family suggests donations to Penn Highlands DuBois Hospice, 100 hospital Ave, DuBois, PA 15801 or Sykesville Memorial Cemetery, PO Box 83, Sykesville, PA 15865.

            Arrangements were under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville.
