John R. Uren

John R. Uren, 94, Sabula, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at DuBois Nursing Home after a short illness. 

John was born August 17, 1922, in Sabula, son of the late George & Ethel (Duttry) Uren. He was married to Florence J. (Solada) Uren, she preceded him in death in 2015.

John served with the US Army during WWII with the 871st Field Artillery Battalion. 

John was retired from DuBois Tool & Electric as a Carpenter. He was a member of Sabula United Methodist Church and he enjoyed hunting & fishing.

John is survived by two sons, Rick (Kris) Uren of Sabula and Tom Uren of Sabula; two grandchildren, Jonathan Uren of Sabula and Brittany Volosky and husband Mark of Sabula; three great-great-grandchildren Zach, Dominic and Owen Volosky and one sister Mrs. Evelyn Renner of Sabula. 

John is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers Therman & Richard Uren and two sisters Ladora Gontero & Driscilla Punchous.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 and on Wednesday from 10am until 11am at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. A Funeral service will follow at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Harold “Butch” Brunner officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
