L. Wayne Himes, 86, formerly of Chestnut Street in DuBois, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Christ the King Manor. He was born June 19, 1938 in Brockport, the son of the late Benjamin & Ada (Silvis) Himes. He was married to Anna Mae (Reilly) Himes, she preceded him in death in 2010.
Wayne attended Horton Schools. He worked most of his life for the city of DuBois. He played with several bands in the area and enjoyed running his coon hounds, beagles, and fox hounds.
He leaves behind two sons David (Mary Ann) Himes of Salem and Dale (Paula) Himes of Troutville, two brothers Gale “Joe” (Wanda) Himes of Reynoldsville and Calvin (Tracey) Himes of Brockway, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Wayne was also preceded in death by a daughter Linda and ten siblings.
At Waynes request there will be no services held. Burial will take place with his wife in St. Catherines Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home Sykesville.
