Madolyn R. (Duttry) Eberly

Madolyn R. Eberly, 86, Sykesville, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at her residence. She was born March 27, 1935, in DuBois, the daughter of the late Elmer Dewey & Louella (Dixon) Duttry. On March 3, 1952, she married Glenn R. “Popeye” Eberly, he preceded her in death in 1994.

Madolyn is survived by her son David Eberly of SaBula, a daughter Brenda (Michael) Gamble of Sykesville, nine grandchildren and twenty great-great children.

She was a homemaker for most of her life, while enjoying praying, bird watching, reading and writing letters. She was a member of Light & Life Free Methodist Church and Rathmel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, Madolyn was also preceded in death by a son Ronald Eberly, four brothers, Everett, Andrew, Eugene & Charles, two sister Majorie Louise Duttry & Anna Kohler, an infant brother & sister, a grand son David Eugene Eberly and a great-grandson Aiden Eberly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 4 until 6pm at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. Services will follow at 6pm at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Eddy officiating. Burial will take place at Salem Cemetery.
