Mark Matusky

Mark Matusky, 60, Sykesville, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born October 19, 1956 in DuBois; son of Anna (Rusonis) Matusky whom survives in Sykesville and the late William C. Matusky.

Mark was a “1974” graduate of DuBois High School, 2yr grad in Mechanical Engineering and 2yr grad in Electrical Engineering. He was a sewage treatment plant operator and water & sewage authority member since their beginning in Sykesville. He was an assistant director in business services and engineer instructor at Penn State DuBois. He was also a student staff supporter at Beaver Stadium for 12years.

Mark enjoyed hunting, baseball, golf and gardening. He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville.

Mark is survived by his mother Anna, life partner Angie Russell of Treasure Lake, three daughters Caroline (Richard) Pearsall of Sykesville, Rene (Jason) Oakes of Dover, DE and Tami Matusky of Sykesville, one sister Kathleen (Daniel) Costanzo of Jacksonville, FL, seven grandchildren Austin and Tyler Cordwell, Broc and Mason Pearsall, Ela and Jase Oakes, Addy Matusky and numerous nieces.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, one daughter TaTonia and two brothers William and Stanley “Shy” Matusky.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10am at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville with Rev. William Barron as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Church Cemetery in DuBois.
