Patricia Carver Obituary

Patricia Ann "Patty" Carver (Dolby), 76, passed away on February 12, 2025, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. Born on April 29, 1948, in Dubois, Pennsylvania, Patty lived a life filled with love, generosity, and devotion to family.

A 1966 graduate of Valparaiso High School in Indiana, Patty shared her life with Jack Carver, a beloved stepfather for her girls, with whom she embarked on many adventures. Together, they enjoyed long drives through the countryside, square dancing late into the night, and fishing trips—though sometimes Patty preferred sunbathing while Jack fished. As a couple, they cherished hosting family gatherings during the holidays and could often be found dancing on the weekends.

Patty dedicated herself to creating a warm and welcoming home. She took great pride in maintaining an immaculate house, always stocked with snacks and filled with love. Her kindness extended beyond her family, as she was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and even strangers.  She also had a deep passion for animals and often cared for rescues.

Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She shared them wholeheartedly with Papa Jack—even when he affectionately called them "stinkin' little brats." One of Patty's favorite pastimes was being the subject of Jack’s photography or setting up photoshoots for her grandchildren. She also loved chauffeuring Jack around the golf course, with an occasional barefoot dip in the pond. Patty was always there in times of need—whether stepping in during a family loss, helping prepare for graduations, or caring for a sick child.

Patty is survived by her daughters Regina Sowder of Monticello, Indiana, and Renee (Daman) Weathington of Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren Dalton (Tina) Sowder of Francesville, Indiana; Blake (Chanel) Sowder of Winamac, Indiana; Serena (Isaiah) Duncan of Plainfield, Indiana; Vanessa (Chase) Bilic-Hannusch of Lafayette, Indiana; Dean Weathington of Lafayette, Indiana; and Demi Weathington of Lafayette, Indiana. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Jemma Duncan of Plainfield, Indiana; Ariana Sowder of Reading, Michigan; Miko Duncan of Plainfield, Indiana; Willow Sowder of Winamac, Indiana; Aiden Griffin of Winamac, Indiana; Andrew Proud of Francesville, Indiana; and soon Baby Girl Sowder of Winamac, Indiana. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces and nephews throughout Indiana and Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Carver; her parents, Harry and Rhodora Dolby; her three sisters, Dian, Harriett and Doris; her sons-in-law Marv and Dan, as well as many extended family members.
