Obituary

Patti Rae (Carr) Buehler, 66 of 16610 Boot Jack Road, Ridgway, passed away on March 25, 2023.  She died at home peacefully surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy battle with dementia.

Patti was born in Ridgway, PA on November 6, 1956 to Raymond and Carolyn Carr of Brockport, PA.  She graduated from Ridgway Area High School Class of 1975.  She was a long time member of the Faith United Church of Christ.  On March 6, 1976, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, James O. Buehler, also of Ridgway.  He survives.

As newlyweds, Jim and Patti moved to Fort Ord, CA where Jim was enlisted in the United States Army.  Their time in California was always spoken about with great love and as a 3-year honeymoon.  They welcomed their first daughter while residing there.

After moving back to Ridgway in 1979, Jim and Patti began their logging business and completed their family with 3 more children.  Patti managed the administrative side of the business, but could also drive a skidder when Jim was in a pinch.  Patti was an amazing wife and mother, hard worker and an extremely generous soul.  Patti loved to laugh!  She was a wonderful cook and baker.  She could take on any home project with no hesitation.  The love for her family and pets were abundant.  It was once said “You were lucky if you were one of Patti Buehler’s children but if you were one of her dogs, that was a different story!”

Patti loved spending summers at their East Branch camp where she made it a second home.  She was born to entertain and would invite anyone up the hill that drove by on a boat.  Patti always cherished being with family and friends.  She was a welcoming host that opened her home for all occasions.  Most of all, she was excited and honored to become a “Nana”.  Her grandchildren were her most precious gifts.

In addition to her husband, Patti is survived by her daughter, Leanne B. (Jeffrey) Nelson of Powell OH, her daughter Jamie L. (Chris Bowers) Buehler of St. Marys PA, her daughter in law, Megan L. Buehler of Ridgway PA; 10 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren:  Alex, Michael and Ryan Armanini; Evan, Carter, Braxton, and Lillian Nelson; Emory, Ava, and Madison Buehler; Eli and Kendall Bowers.  She is also survived by her mother, Carolyn Newhouse Carr of Brockport; a brother Randy (Kathy) Carr of Ridgway; Jim’s siblings:  Sherry (Don) Sampson, Andrew (Judy) Buehler, Jolene (Jack) Pelgrin, Diana Buehler; Jim’s aunts:  Linda Johnson, Pauline Dunn, and Barbara Sherry; her special caregiver Melissa Anderson; and several nieces and nephew.

Patti is preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Heather R. Armanini and her only son, Justin O. Buehler; her father, Raymond A. Carr; a sister, Mary Kay Swartzfager; her mother and father-in-law, James and Judith Buehler.
