On March 6, 1965, he married his wife of 57 years Ethel (Bliss) Marshall.  She survives.

Bob contracted the polio virus at the age of four but never allowed his paraplegic condition to hinder his work ethics.  He was a toolmaker for almost 40 years working for Ericksons Machine Shop in DuBois, then, Berg Electronics, DuPont Corporation and FCI in Clearfield before its closing.

He also enjoyed small engine repair starting a business out of his home's basement under the business name Robert Marshall Repair.  He ventured to build an auto repair shop which is today partnered with two of his sons.

Bob was a member of the Sandy Valley Community Church in Reynoldsville serving on the board in positions of Secretary to the Board, President to the Board, Vice President to the Board, as well as Deacon, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School and teacher. As a dedicated member, Robert was involved with a number of church renovation projects working alongside fellow members.  His love of God and belief in the importance of the church was exemplified through his dedication to attending services with his family.  He loved the Lord and would not hesitate to let you know.

He looked forward to Sunday meals with his family.  He enjoyed visiting with each member hearing stories of happenings in their lives and giving advice or his opinion.

Bob is survived by six children, Charles (Carla Burch) Marshall, Dawn (Raymond) Smith, Duane (Darlene) Marshall, Beth (Mark) Gilga, David Marshall and Sandra (Anthony Kregiel) Baka; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.  He is also survived by three sisters Lenora (Homer) Zumstein, Beverly (Donald) McKeown, Jessica (Daniel) Pierce, a brother Matthew Marshall and numerous nephews and nieces.
