Ruth E. (Beatty) Coleman

Ruth E. Coleman, 79 of Sykesville, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at DuBois Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born February 4, 1937 in Sykesville, PA. She was the daughter of the late Harold & Ruby (Anderson) Beatty.

She was married 60 years to Donald E. Coleman, who survives in Sykesville.

She was a 1955 graduate of Brookville High School.

She was a former employee of Cameron Manufacturing, Rolla Jenson, Murphy’s/Ames Dept. Store and an Avon Sales Rep.; she was also a Cub Scout den mother for her sons and enjoyed painting, crocheting, pets, planting flowers and the outdoors.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and enjoyed her husband, 4 children, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her daughter Jodi (Joseph) Leonard of Sykesville, 3 sons David M. Coleman of Reynoldsville, Donald M. (Penny) Coleman of DuBois and Perry E. Coleman of Florida and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Beverly P. McClosky and a brother David H. Beatty.

The family will be receiving friends and family on Wednesday, January 25th from 4 - 7pm and Thursday, form 10 - 11am at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. A service will follow at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Spencer officiating. Burial will take place in Butler Cemetery.
