Samuel Morris Rose

June 12, 1956 ~ August 14, 2023 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Obituary

Samuel Morris Rose, 67, born June 12, 1956, son of the late Edward L. Rose and Dorothy Crosby Rose in Mount Pleasant, PA, died on August 14, 2023, at Penn Highlands Healthcare in DuBois, PA.

Sam was an avid country music fan, especially Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard. He played guitar and would sing a song for you at the drop of a hat. He loved to hunt and watch the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his son Samuel William Waylon Rose, who was his pride and joy and who he loved very much. He is, also survived by a special friend named Dorothy Williams. Surviving family members include his sisters Nancy DeTurk of Clarion, Dorothy Mae Andrews of Greensburg and Sarah Jane Bowman and husband Edward of Branford, FL. His surviving brothers include David C. Rose and wife Ellen of Punxsutawney, John Allen Rose of Altoona, and Michael Joseph Rose and Christine Baskette of Middleton, ID.

As Sam requested, there will be no formal service or viewing. Sam was blessed with a loving and supportive family and many good friends and neighbors. If family or friends want to gather to celebrate life in general, that would make him smile, and if he could do so, he would probably raise his hand and say, “See Yuh!”

Sam was a loyal supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
