Thomas James “Homer” Marando, 49, DuBois, passed away November 25, 2025 at Penn Highlands in DuBois. He was born October 23, 1976, in DuBois; the son of James A. “Elvis” Marando and Karen R. (Bloom) DeBoer, they both survive in DuBois.
He was a graduate of DuBois Area High School. Homer spent most of his working life as a cook in the kitchens around town, having worked at Tommy D’s, Fort Worth, and most recently the VFW. He enjoyed playing pool and was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philly’s.
In addition to his parents, Homer was survived by five aunts, Marsha (Frank) Gregor of NC, Sally (Bill) Neiswonger of Reynoldsville, Cheryl (Tim) Mumford, Jean Marando, and Joyce Marando all of DuBois as well as numerous cousins.
Homer was preceded in death by three aunts, Jeanette Stretch, Dorothy Wingard, and Rose Bloom and one uncle Charles Thomas Marando.
There will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of DuBois.
