William Wayne Hanna, 63, of Evergreen Road, Luthersburg, PA, died at home, Thursday, April 19, 2018 after a yearlong illness. A son of the late William E. and Shirley (Wilstead) Hanna, he was born on January 25, 1955. On June 30, 1978 he married Cherryl (Simmons), who survives in Luthersburg.
Along with his wife, he is survived by: four children, Daniel (Patricia) Hanna of Pasadena, CA, Stephanie (Tom) Cochran of Inverness, FL, Patrick (Amanda) Hanna of Luthersburg, PA and Miles (Jamie Dean) Hanna of Punxsutawney, PA; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Dwayne (Stephan Velez) Hanna of Luthersburg.
William was a graduate of the DuBois area High School and served in Sea and Rescue in the US Navy. He worked ten years with the Broward County Sherriff Department of Florida and nineteen years with the current Stella-Jones Railroad Tie Plant of Falls Creek, PA. William was raised in Luthersburg, lived sixteen years in Florida and came back to Luthersburg in 1998. He enjoyed bowling, gambling and working in his garage.
There will be no visitation.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
