Kathryn E. Reiter, 91, of Sykesville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at Christ the King Manor.
She was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Sykesville, daughter of the late Steve and Frances (Persin) Gunarich.
Kathryn was married to Marx C. Reiter on July 17, 1948; he preceded her in death in 1990.
Kathryn was a graduate of Sykesville High School class of 1941. She worked at Sylvania in Emporium during World War II.

She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville, where she was also a member of the Rosary Society as well as a kitchen helper for most of the church functions. She was also a member of Sykesville Senior Center and Croatian Fraternal Union of Pittsburgh. She loved to go shopping for a good bargain.
Kathryn is survived by her three sons, Paul Reiter and wife Patricia of RD Punxy, David Reiter and wife Diane of Sykesville, and Ronald Reiter and wife Pam of Sykesville; eight grandchildren: Vanessa Reiter, Megan Reiter, Amie Reiter, Leah Wilson, Drew Reiter, Christina Mitchell, Kelly Vishak, Kathryn Reiter; two step-grandchildren, Rayla Horner and Jamie Jones; two step-great-grandchildren, Cameron and Brandon Horner.
Kathryn was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Boyer; and a brother: Steve Gunarich Jr.

Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. Praying of the Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the ABVM Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Tomasone as celebrant. Burial will follow in LakeLawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
